As a Habs fan, I was shocked about the trade. I thought the move was going to open up a trade for Hossa and Lehtonen. In the end, I'm glad they didn't get Hossa - never really liked him, and as you can see what Pittsburgh had to pay, thank god Gainey didn't pull the trigger on their asking price - 3 roster players (Higgins I'm sure would've been one of the players), 1 prospect and a 1st rounder. Would've messed with their chemistry a little too much.
In the end, you lose a goalie, and turn the reigns over to your young stud. Other Montreal goalies turned out to be ok after being thrown into the fire, so we'll see what happens

After seeing what Toronto got for Hal Gill, you have to think Gainey could've gotten a little more than a draft pick - perhaps a roster player as well. Maybe he pulled the trigger too early in the day, but at least Gainey got something for Huet.
