What a slew of players for the Nets to go after... YUCK!

George - bench fodder at best
Stackhouse - over the hill vet that does nothing but equate salary
Outlaw - by far highest potential in this trade for the Nets
Jack - backup NBA point guard imo; nothing more
Frye - soft, soft, SOFT! Why does anyone want this guy - his play in NY was clearly a fluke

The Mavs become instant West favorite and Portland finally gets a real PG. Somehow, both teams win yet the Nets (who are giving up the best player) get a load of garbage in return. This sure doesn't help them currently and doesn't look to add much for the future either. What is wrong with the GM's out there today - first Johan, now this! Jesus!

[edit: Good thing I missed reading that the Nets are also getting a #1 pick - brought this trade back to respectability. Still not great though as I'm sure they'll use the #1 pick to draft a foreigner who'll never make it across the pond.]

P.S. Please let this deal fall through - I want Kidd teamed up with Kobe so I can watch my boys make a run at the title!

I really hate three team trades cuz they seem to be very complicated in who's getting what and the impact of each player. Oy.

I'd love to see the Pacers trade away Tins and J.O. for a Kidd package, but I doubt Kidd would want to play for such a bunk team at this point. The thought of Kidd, Kobe and Bynum in L.A. is scary. Kidd back to the Mavs would be interesting, too.

On Sirius Radio today they mentioned that Avery Johnson denied they were in any discussions to acquire Jason Kidd. You know how those things go ... he could be telling the truth or he's full of it and they just haven't finalized anything yet.
